The Impacts of Artificial Intelligence on the Gaming Industry

The gaming industry is a truly dynamic place - video game development sits at the intersection of technology and creativity, and so is ripe for disruption by AI tools. Artificial intelligence has long been present in the world of video games, from playing Atari table tennis against the computer to now having AI companions within video games. Players are used to the presence of AI in their games, but there has been a recent explosion of AI tools that will only continue to grow. In this report, I cover the implication of artificial intelligence in the gaming industry, and how an ethical "us-topia" can be built alongside new innovations.
